New Computers and Bugs

January 29, 2008 / by elfie33

Well I've been sitting here all morning trying to figure out our new computers and Vista..  My head is killing me...which should give you a clue is to how things are going on my end of the world..LOL SmileyCentral.com

It's pretty much going to rain all day here...least that what the weather guys are saying..

As you can see they are pretty much right....

Talked to my mom last night...she has a new friend...a cat...she feeds it part of her breakfast each morning...LOL   She says she saves some of her milk and breakfast and sits outside on the patio and feeds the cat.   She seems to be doing well...and I'm grateful for that..

Happy Tuesday everybody...

Gee, more computer "stuff" to get used to, huh?  I hope it things get easier and better real quick.  How nice that your mom has a new friend...kitties make wonderful company.  As for the rain, I think that may be what you are sending my way because we have rainy weather in the forecast, although it is a gorgeous mild, sunny day today.

Yeah this Vista stuff is going to take some time to figure out.  It will change again when they change out the server.  The problem is..out lab has a different setup than staff computers..so it's like having to learn two different systems.  I've come home three days in a row with a really awful headache.

I'm glad mom is happy, I was really worried she would hate the nursing home...but she seems really happy and content.

My son has Vista on his new computer.  I played with it some but I really like XP better maybe 'cause I am used to it. I think the rain is headed my way; it is clouding up and they are predicting rain in the early evening and tonight. Hope you feel better. "HEART"

I took some really good drugs last night..*laughs*  and felt somewhat better today.  But my headache came back after working on these new computers.

Ugh... good luck. I've never tackled Vista myself, but have yet to hear anything positive about it.  That's very sweet about your mother and her little kitty friend. Very cute.

Some things with Vista I really like...I like the fact that it lets you open multiple windows and work on several things at once....that is cool...but finding out where they put applications is a pain in the rear..LOL   Yeah I'm glad mom is happy..Laughing

Headache is right. My hubby hates Vista, but if he removes it, the warranty will not be any good. Pets are excellent theraphy. The kitty will do your mom a world of good. I think that storms are moving in for tonight!
  • elfie33 said 6 months ago

Be careful those storms were nasty around here..*heart*  Some things with Vista I like...some are strange...it's the fact that I've got computers at work with 2 different opperating systems and it makes me nuts..LOL

Oh, my! I'm a Mac person, but my brother sends you his sympathies! He is a college computer instructor and has regaled me with tales of Vista "issues," perplexities and patches for things that don't work. Hope your poor achin' brain gets some relief this evening. Stay dry, too.

Love to hear about your Mom and her kitty pal. That's great!

Vista is just about as big a nightmare as the New Blogster.  My brother has it, and I have tried messing with his computer some.  I really do not care for it.  My daughter says,  "Give it a couple of years and they'll have the bugs out of it."  Unfortunately, buying a new computer can't always wait for two years!

Well I am discovering some things I like with it...but some stuff is just strange...I've not ever had a program that would take folders out of your documents, and make totally different ones...but Vista has done it...strange..LOL

My son has Vista on his laptop and loves it.  He has had no problems with it.  When I have used it before I liked it actually.  The weather has been very, very windy here with power outages because of it and grass fires.

Checking in and catching up. "Ketchup day" I would write on the blackboard, back in my teaching days. ("What's ketchup day, Mr. Smith?")
  • elfie33 said 6 months ago
Well it's good to see you...you can come and ketchup anyday..*grins*  Laughing
