I'm just annoyed...

June 4, 2008 / by elfie33

Ok...I'm annoyed...not at anyone here...well maybe a little...but I'll get over it...

This not being able to reply to folks is really annoying.  I'm not ignoring anybody....or at least I'm trying not to, but I feel like no one knows who I'm talking to when I do reply...and yes I know the "team" is working on it..(bless their hearts)...so I'll try and no get to annoyed.   But it still irratates me...so If I don't reply I'm  not ignoring anybody.    I appreciate everybody who stops by...

Now on to what really is pulling my chain today....

This is an open letter to the folks who just left the center:

I love kids...I do...but good grief don't bring your kids into a public place and let them run amuck...

I am not being paid to be a babysitter nor is it my job to corral your children from trying to kill each other.

I do not enjoy hearing your children scream at the top of their lungs and bang on the walls while they charge down the hallway.

It's not cute to see them try to draw on the walls, nor do I find it funny when they try to flush a whole roll of tissue down the toilet.

I question your parenting skills when you stand there and look at me with that deer in the headlights look----while your child trying to smash a keyboard.

What really fries my butt is when I tell the little heathen to not do that...you look like it's a total shock your angel has ever misbehaved.

What I would like is a little cooperation on your part as a parent.  Just a little...I mean they are yours...and a little help cleaning up the bathroom would have helped also...

Nuff said...

Is it time to go home yet?

A.J. It had been a good day until this couple came in with their 6 kids....yes you read right...6...and just let them run wild.   The oldest three locked themselves in the bathroom, while the others beat on the door...screamed...and drove everyone else batty...I finally had to go back there and tell them to open the door...there was water all over...the dad just kinda laughed and brushed it off...the mom didn't even bother to look up from what she was doing.   I finally got fed up and told them they would have to go outside because I had people trying to test....they weren't happy.  But good lord it was awful.

I also find unruly children very annoying. I never allowed mine to act up. I spanked their behinds and they knew that I would. Is it the fear that they will be reported to family services or what? Or are parents just too lazy to deal with their children? Drats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Rats!!!!!!!!!!!!

My trick to get around it is to click on reply, they will get a message that you did. Then in the box I put their name first so others know to whom the comment back is for. Might help in the meantime

I am a good person.Except that i do  get@ slacker parents.I say something.I just can't help myself.I know its not my business(my hubby,or mom)say I say if they are standing in my space screaming I sure as hell can say something  about it....

I think you did the right thing when you took matters into your own hands and insisted the brats go outside.  Too bad, though, the parents weren't parents enough to do it...sort of like leaving that responsibility to you.  Oh, how absolutely frustrating and disruptive...and totally unfair!

I tend to do the same as ana in my replies...start the reply with the person's real or user name (or somewhere very obvious).  The person does get notified and will be able to locate his/her replies much easier.

There is a price to be paid when a society chooses Relative Humanism as their "god".  If there is no ultimate God, no Higher Authority and there are no moral absolutes, no rules... then whatever anyone chooses to do (or chooses to allow their children to do) is acceptable because it is just a matter of "opinion".  You, my friend, are just seeing the beginnings of what we as a society are choosing by rejecting God.  There is a price to be paid... and we all will be paying it at one level or another.  Peace to you for today.

Angie: I'm not sure what their problems are, but they just seem to turn a blind eye.  I've been kids kicks, slap, and bite their parent's in here and they just let them do it.  It truly amazes me.   You know I know hiring a sitter is expensive, but I think if your going to a government bldg, and you know your going to be there awhile.  You need to leave the kids elsewhere.

foreveryours528:  It was a frickin zoo in here...couldn't hear yourself think..LOL

  • elfie33 said 2 months ago

anacoana:  Thanks hun, I'm trying that.   It's still annoying but better..LOL *hugs*

  • elfie33 said 2 months ago

FOBsTaTeside: I can't tell you the number of  times I've had to tell parent's they will have to take their kids outside.   I test for employers, and I can't have kids screaming and making all kinds of noise...and I won't let folks test with kids with them.   They can't take their kids to work so they have to find a sitter..

  • elfie33 said 2 months ago

donnamg:  I have to ask folks to leave all the time.  I've seen parents sit there and let their kids kick them, slap them in the face, and do nothing.  Just put the kid down and let it do whatever.  It's very frustrating.

  • elfie33 said 2 months ago

transposer: your right...you always seem to hit the nail on the head..*hugs to you my friend*

  • elfie33 said 2 months ago

Jenn:  Trust me Jenn, I was ready to scream, it was nuts in here.

  • elfie33 said 2 months ago

GossipInATutu:   Oh yeah I would tell her for sure there will be screaming...among other things..LOL

  • foreveryours528 said 2 months ago

LOL! Not hearing yourself think might be a nice vacation once in a while! You should've video taped it and put it on youtube, that would've been so funny!

Okay, I'll probably get grief for this, but I have found that too many parents want to be their kids' friends instead of parents. Teaching a child how to act in public is one of the basic tenets of parenting. Too many parents are flunking the class!
  • ChihulahuaLover said 2 months ago

I bet you were.  Ugh I hate that.  I used to work out in the public and know what you mean. Grrr.  Thanks for adding me as a friend Pam.  I hope your evening goes much better.

Oh...I'm so glad to be out of the stage of frustratingly trying to control young children...never mind that I'm now frustratingly trying to control young adults.  It's so embarrassing!!!

I feel your pain, I am a teacher, lol.....

Poor elfie... Maybe this will help.  There was a movie where Bret maverick was a sheriff and the jail had no bars.  So he drew a straight line where the bars would be and got some red paint and splattered the paint on the outside of the line.  When the bad guy was put behind the drawn line he asked" what happen?"  Bret just said thats just the last person who tried to escape.  The bad guy never left.

    Just a friendly thought.
